Get started: find the right psychologist for you
A few short questions so our clinical team can understand what you need and match you with the right psychologist. It takes about three minutes.
Step 1 of 18
How this works
Answer a few short questions about what you are looking for and how things are for you at the moment. There are no right or wrong answers, and you can go back and change anything before you send it.
- It takes about three minutes
- Your answers are confidential and go only to our clinical team
- All sessions are online, via secure video
- Sessions are £130 for 50 minutes
- No GP referral needed
First, where can we reach you?
We ask for this up front so we can get back to you, even if something interrupts you before the end. Your details stay confidential.
Please check your name, email and phone number.
Your information is treated in the strictest confidence. See our privacy policy.
Who would you like support for?
Support for children and young people
We only work with adults (18 and over), so we are not the right service for a child or young person. There is good support available:
- Your GP, who can refer you to local NHS services
- NHS children and young people's mental health services (CAMHS), which you can reach through your GP or often through school
- Young Minds, advice and support for young people and parents
- Childline, free and confidential for under-19s, on 0800 1111
- For families in Kent, our colleagues at The Tunbridge Wells Psychologist work with children and young people
If you would like to ask us anything, you can send us a message.
Chose the wrong answer by mistake?
How old are you?
Please enter your age in years (18 or over).
What brings you here?
Just tell us, in your own words, what you would like help with. The more you can share, the better we can think about who would be the best fit.
Please tell us a little about what brings you here.
What are you hoping for from therapy?
Tap the ones that matter to you, in order of importance. Completely optional, you can continue without choosing any.
Would you prefer therapy that feels more structured, or more exploratory?
Have you had therapy or counselling before?
Please tell us a little about it: what it was for, whether it helped, and roughly when.
Have you experienced anything traumatic or distressing that still affects you today?
You do not need to go into any detail here.
Please answer the following questions about yourself. Your answers are confidential and help us make sure we can offer the right support.
In the last 6 months, have you had any thoughts about hurting yourself, or ending your life?
Thank you for being honest with us. There is no wrong answer here, and what you tell us helps us think carefully about the right support for you.
Are the thoughts about hurting yourself (self-harm), about ending your life, or both?
Are you currently making plans to end your life?
Thank you for being honest with us
It sounds like things are really hard right now. Because you have told us about thoughts you might act on, a weekly online therapy service like ours is not the safest option for you at the moment.
Please reach out to one of these services today. They are used to conversations like this and are there to support people who are feeling the way you are at the moment.
Support available right now
- Your GP, ask for an urgent appointment. As well as being able to arrange crisis support quickly, your GP can refer you to your local Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) for psychological therapy alongside that support.
- Your local mental health crisis team, you can contact them directly, and your GP can also connect you
- SHOUT, text SHOUT to 85258 for free, confidential support by text
- Samaritans on 116 123, free to call, 24 hours a day
- NHS 111, choosing option 2, for urgent mental health support
If you are in immediate danger, go to A&E or call 999.
Why these services, and not us? Our clinic offers planned weekly therapy, with the same psychologist at the same time each week. That works well when you can wait safely between sessions, but it is not crisis support, and from what you have said, crisis support is what matters most right now. The services above can respond today, and helping people through moments like this is exactly what they do.
We do offer therapy for people who have been through a crisis, once the immediate risk has passed. If that point comes and you would like weekly sessions, contact us again then.
Chose the wrong answer by mistake?
Have you ever, at any point in your life, tried to end your life?
When was the most recent time?
A rough sense is fine.
Have you been harming yourself in the last 6 months?
Have you needed medical treatment for the self-harm? (for example A&E, stitches, or seeing your GP about it)
If you’d like to, tell us a little more about the self-harm.
How often are you self-harming at the moment?
Has the self-harm been getting more frequent, or more serious, recently?
Is your GP aware of what you’ve shared with us here?
If you answered 'Yes' to any of the previous questions and would like to share anything else, please use the space below:
Are you currently using alcohol in a way that feels hard to manage or is significantly affecting daily life?
Are you currently using recreational drugs in a way that feels hard to manage or is significantly affecting daily life?
Thank you for being honest with us
That is not always easy to share. In our experience, when alcohol or drugs are taking up a lot of space, weekly therapy on its own tends not to be enough, and we would rather be honest about that.
Therapy works best alongside specialist substance support, so we would encourage you to start there:
Free, confidential support across the UK
- Your GP, who can connect you with your local drug and alcohol service
- FRANK, honest information and help finding support near you, at talktofrank.com or on 0300 123 6600, 24 hours a day
- NHS addiction support, including how to find your local service, at nhs.uk/live-well/addiction-support
- Drinkaware, for alcohol in particular, at drinkaware.co.uk
Once that support is in place, we would be really pleased to work with you alongside it or afterwards. You are welcome to come back to us at any point.

We have male and female Clinical Psychologists in our team.
We suggest the psychologist who is the best clinical and therapeutic fit, but if you have a strong preference about the gender of the psychologist you see, please let us know.
Is there a type of therapy you would like to try?
Choose as many as you like. If you are not sure, that is completely fine, our clinical team will guide you.
Which country will you be in for your sessions?
Please tell us which country you will be in.
When are you generally free for sessions?
Choose all that apply. A rough idea is fine, we will confirm times with you.
Days
Please choose at least one day.
Time of day
Please choose at least one time of day.
How will you be funding therapy?
If you are using health insurance, we handle the invoicing with your insurer directly, so there is no paperwork for you.
Paying through private health insurance?
Please contact your insurer to pre-authorise your sessions at least 3 days before your first appointment. We will need your membership number and authorisation code at least 48 hours before your first session.
Many insurers also require a GP referral before they will authorise treatment, so it's worth checking this with them early, as it can add time.
Paying for your own sessions?
Our fee is £130 per session.
We are unable to offer concessional rates.
Please tell us the name of your insurer.
Is there anything else you would like to share with us?
Optional. Anything you think would help us understand what you need.
