WPA psychologists and therapists online
HCPC-registered clinical psychologists, covered by your WPA health insurance. We handle the WPA administration and invoicing, so you can focus on the therapy.
How WPA mental health cover works
WPA health insurance plans often include psychological therapy, with the level of cover depending on the plan and any options added. Check these points with WPA before your first session.
-
Is psychological therapy covered on your plan? Log into your WPA member area or call the number on your membership documents. Ask whether out-patient therapy with a clinical psychologist is covered and whether a GP referral is needed.
-
Do you need pre-authorisation? WPA normally asks you to open a claim and get treatment authorised before it starts. Ask for the reference and pass it to us so we can quote it on our invoices.
-
Is there a session limit, cap or excess? Some plans cover a set number of sessions, others cover up to a financial limit per plan year, and some carry an excess or a shared-responsibility contribution. Get the figures in advance.
Once WPA has confirmed cover, we handle the rest. You attend your sessions and we invoice WPA directly, quoting your authorisation. Nothing for you to submit.
Why WPA members choose The Online Psychologists
HCPC-registered clinical psychologists
Every session is delivered by a doctoral-level clinical psychologist with at least seven years of specialist training. WPA recognises HCPC-registered clinical psychologists for psychological therapy claims.
12 evidence-based approaches
Our psychologists work across CBT, EMDR, ACT, schema therapy, compassion-focused therapy and more. Treatment is matched to you, not to a single model.
We handle the WPA admin
You do not submit invoices or chase claims. We liaise with WPA and bill them directly on your behalf.
Personal matching
Our Clinical Director, Dr Rachel Whatmough, reads every enquiry and matches you with the psychologist whose expertise suits your situation.
No waiting lists
Most clients have their first full session within a week of getting in touch. If your WPA cover is active, there is no reason to wait.
Online across the UK
All sessions run over secure, encrypted video. Attend from wherever you are in the UK, with no travel and no clinic.

WPA psychologists online, anywhere in the UK
We are an online-only practice. Your sessions happen over secure video with an HCPC-registered clinical psychologist recognised by WPA, from wherever you are in the UK.
WPA members are often self-employed, or on a plan they chose themselves rather than one an employer picked, and they tend to have looked closely at what they are paying for. Clinical psychology is the level of care most of those plans are designed to cover. Every member of our team holds a doctorate in clinical psychology and can draw on more than one approach, so if the first method is not the right fit for your anxiety, depression or trauma, there is somewhere to go: CBT, EMDR, ACT, schema therapy and more.
We support WPA members in London, Manchester, Bristol, Surrey and everywhere else. The administration is the same wherever you live: you open the claim, we invoice WPA, you attend your sessions.
If you are unsure whether your plan covers clinical psychology, or what it costs if it does not, our pricing page sets out the self-funded rate and how insurance sits alongside it.
