Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy

Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT) is a time-limited, structured form of psychodynamic therapy.

It focuses on how difficulties in relationships and patterns of relating can affect mood and wellbeing, and aims to bring greater insight into these links.

When it helps

DIT has strong evidence for treating depression, but can also be helpful for anxiety, low self-esteem, and relationship difficulties. It’s particularly suited if you notice repeating patterns in your relationships that seem to contribute to ongoing emotional distress.

What to expect

Over a set number of sessions (usually 16), your psychologist will work with you to identify a key relational pattern that feels central to your current struggles.

Together, you’ll explore how this pattern developed, how it plays out in your life now, and experiment with new ways of relating.

The structured and focused approach of DIT helps foster both immediate symptom relief and longer-term personal growth.
